Mario is the titular main protagonist of Illumination's 13th feature film The Super Mario Bros. Movie, based on the iconic Super Mario Bros. video game series. He is a plumber from Brooklyn who gets transported to the Mushroom Kingdom, where its ruler Princess Peach helps him rescue his younger twin brother Luigi from Bowser. He is voiced by Chris Pratt in English, who also portrayed Star-Lord in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Owen Grady in the Jurassic World trilogy and voiced Barley Lightfo
